He was one of my favorite movie star for a long time. And the only one I've ever met. I wrote about this before, but here goes.
In 1974-5, I lived near the Rose Garden on Lake Harriot in South Minneapolis. One day, possibly in spring, there was a old guy taking a stroll, and there was me checking to see if the roses were flowering. From memory it was a little too early for the roses, but we were walking around the bushes, kind of eying each other, until it became a little uncomfortable not to acknowledge each other.
So I might have said a polite hello, to which he might have said, "Nice day," or similar. And even though he was old, he was kind of good-looking guy, so I, all of 16 or 17, blurted out that he looked a lot like Paul Newman but a lot older. And he smiled and said something like, "Thanks."
Paul Newman was in Minneapolis for a few days that week either immediately before or after a racing weekend in Brainard. I could be the only fan in the world that insulted him to his face, eh!

He says I'm more like a Chimp than a Crow
Auckland University's findings about New Caledonian Crows solving problems explained. (Chimps get frustrated and break tools when they can't solve a problem, ergo the post title.)
So, "birdbrain" is no longer an insult, just so you know.

200 Workouts at the Gym
So, it was 11 months for the first 100 workouts, then nearly 13 months for the next 50, but 8 months for the next 50. Oh, heck, I was hoping I'd get to 200 by the end of July... anyway, still a member and still making an occasional appearance there...
Oh, Rude!
Lachezar Karadjov is not a rude guy, but his web site can be... sometimes... Heck... Isn't it rude? No? This is the offending blog.

How Old is My Brain?
I just got this from my friend Nancy, and I discovered I have a problem with the number 4. But I'm a little younger than my chronological age. Phew...
*****
Procedure of Flash Fabrica Game:
1. Touch 'start'
2. Wait for 3, 2, 1.
3. Memorize the number's position on the screen, then click the circle from the SMALLEST umber to the BIGGEST number.
4. At the end of game, the computer will tell you the age of your brain.
OK, click here.
Couple of more tests here, but the second one seems not to load consistently.

New Online Stuff
Once in a great, great while (a year? 18 months?) I go to my Flickr or My Google Accounts and look over things like my profile and new programs/options that's piled up while I wasn't looking. This time around, the additional stuff to Google is just... mind-boggling. So I'm appealing to you for some help.
I understand their Video upload thing enough; I've used this a while back. But I haven't even bothered with the Reader yet. And I don't even know what some of the other stuff do.
So, do you have a favorite? What do you use? What's been a great help for you? What should I stay clear of? Please share with me anything you know, including your very biased, prejudiced opinion. Except the one about "Switch to Wordpress" - I looked into it, and I was overwhlemed I decided to stick with Blogger.

Everything Under Control
This pic by Steve Buser's New Orleans Daily Photo. Hilarious pic. Hurricane, not hilarious. I've not heard of, that I remember, the same hurricane hitting the same place twice before, though. Does that happen often?
Getaway Boat
Have a look at this at Barbara's Vancouver Daily Photo. Click on it if you like. See that strange vessel in the middle? Almost Egyptian-looking if you ask me, perhaps transporting royal treasures. Or a stupid robbery with a heavy load? Teenagers running away or experimenting with home made boats?
Says Barbara: "No actually the funny thing is just a surfer paddling and a boat came so close it looks like they are attached... they were just chatting...amusing eh!??"
