Sorry about being Potty-Minded

The small sign in the top photograph... Ummm... I thought it pointed to express loo lane.

Oh, Gym...

I joined my gym on January 20, 2006, and by mid-December 2006, I did 100 workouts. That's, what, 11 months.

But the next 50, not 100, took 14 months. Yeah, I finally got to 150 today.

Sad... I think I'll get a popsicle.

So, No Conspiracy?

So, it appears if I take out my links from my signature, I can communicate with most everybody, and the gallery thing is a separate problem. I'll see how many XTRA folks will reply today.

So there's no conspiracy?

My email address of choice is my Gmail, which of course is Google Mail, right? XTRA, the provider I noticed first for rejecting my mail, recently got together with Yahoo, (at which time their Internet service was down for well over a couple of days!) See where you end up if you try to go to www.xtra.co.nz! And I noticed my emails being rejected only in the last few weeks since the Yahoo/Microsoft thingie.

XTRA is owned by Telecom New Zealand, (whose www.telecom.co.nz is unavailable this morning) which is owned by a Canadian company, except the directory portion which was bought up by someone else recently. Anyway, Telecom NZ is and has been a monopoly and has only recently was told to unbundl, but they try to place as much obstacles for Kiwis and telecommunications companies to live a happier on-line life. We were faithfully on XTRA for about a decade, thinking they just need to realize how opening up technology is going to expand their business, but we gave up a few years ago.

So, a Yahoo-linked ISP owned by a monopoly, vs. Gmail and little old me not being able to talk to folks on XTRA... Gosh, darn, I thought I knew what was happening.

No Email...

My friend Gino said the best way to shut an Italian up was to tie their hands behind their back; without the hand gesture, Italians can't talk.

I'm loosing my email. Not sure where the problem is, but I've noticed many of my friends and business contacts weren't getting back to me, including ones that usually do, within minutes. (Thanks, Kath.) At first I thought it was XTRA (NZ Telecom's Internet arm) was rejecting Gmail, so I sent it from our Orcon (an NZ ISP), but no, still no go. So I'm resorting to using my Yahoo, which I never used but have because of Flickr.

Now one of the galleries informed me all my emails are all gobbledygook and they hadn't received paperwork for submission for an exhibit that opened last Friday!!

Heck, I'm without email. Worse, I don't know who's receiving and who's not!

Lordy, this is all I need - I've been kind of crook with zero energy so I've been doing absolute minimum and I don't need another headache like this... Besides, I've got this Office New Millennium thing (I don't know what it's called, but the new Office stuff) that is slower than a blind donkey walking backwards, and it looks more like a video game than software.

Cranky? You bet!

Lordy...

Found a Prolific Nelson YouTuber

To date he/she has 83 clips uploaded, mostly from our little berg; here's Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4 and Page 5. His/her titles are long so it's hard to tell what's in them, but I know some people in the clips. Amazing.

And the Nancies here:

Criky, I'm Glad I'm Learning How Stupid I Am

co·pa·cet·ic [koh-puh-set-ik, -see-tik]
–adjective Slang. fine; completely satisfactory; OK.

And all these years I thought it was "co-pathetic"!

Word of the Day

Magniloquent, adjective; speaking or expressed in a lofty or grandiose style; pompous; bombastic; boastful. A more magniloquent way to say, "drama queen".

But what I want to be is magnanimous. I checked how to spell this word for the first time just now.

By the way, as I told Rita, I'm back to my 30 gig hard drive because the laptop (2003) could not take over 120 gigs, and Ben's two days' work trying to install was wasted. Pity. We won't discuss the fact he could have researched a bit beforehand, because he's feeling soooo bad, but I'm cross that something only five years old is so outdated that what's fairly standard now (in NZ) can't even be applied. I mean, something five year is hardly "old", is it? Well, it shouldn't be.

My Hands Are Tied

We're having a long weekend and Ben's swapping my hard drive and installing, so I have to work on Ben's computer, which has a nice big screen, but a very dirty, regular keyboard... And it feel very uncormfortable, as if my upper body is in a straight jacket...

And quite unrelated to that, there's not been a lot of brain activity taking place, so I think I'll go clean out my closet. After a couple of strong cups of java.

So you all have a safe and happy weekend, ok?
