Floored

I've always had great admiration for people who could sing, but this man is amazing.

That's what I was thinking, Kath. He must have had a bit clock or a stop watch or something to get everything in sync, yeah?

Extremely well done! To record four parts could not have been easy. He probably wrote his own lyrics too. Brilliant! Thanks for showing this.- Dave

He probably used a sound over sound recorder. I used to have a tape deck that would allow me to put track over track. Of course now with comptuter program, you can do even more. Reminds me of when we used to sing in madrigal groups. Lots of people didn't realize that Wayne Newton for years used to sing in falsetto until he decided to use his natural voice.
This guys is good.

I forgot the Kath told me you could edit these files... The Carpenters used to do all their vocals, too, didn't they!

Well not at first. They had a group and when traveling, there were five or six of them. But Richard was into a lot of that, so they may very well have done voice overs in recording. They started out in their parents garage with a little band. I think Linda Ronstad used to do some harmony with herself. It is actually easier in some ways as the breathing and breaks are easier to make the same. I have heard some very good singers who don't sound good together as they aren't used to breathing the same and accenting the same as the other person. Groups who sing together for a long time always sound more smooth. When I started in dance bands a lot of time was spent on stopping and starting at the same time and getting the same amount of accenting by all.

Which is also why family and "kin" groups sound so good...
