I just rang my parents because I was too tired to do more than grunt when Mom rang on Monday. I had at the back of my mind that it's Dad's birthday today, too.
While their phone was ringing, I saw in my Outlook calendar that Dad was born in 1927 - that makes him 80 today.
Thanks, Myron. I hear they're having a party next weekend, on account of my brother having spent this past weekend going to Suzuka to watch Formula One races.
While talking to him, though, I wasn't too sure if he cared - it sounded like just another day for him. It's been a big deal for my mother all year, in contrast.

Happy birthday, father-of-Meg!!!
Thanks, Rita. He was so lukewarm about the whole affair it was terribly anti-climactic.
